It all began in the kitchen...
Krysta grew up with a simple family ritual: her mom made homemade jerky for Krysta and her sisters as a healthier alternative to the usual snacks. It was flavorful, filling, and packed with protein, and it quickly became a household staple. Years later, when Krysta started making jerky for her husband, friends, and family, she rediscovered the joy of simple, intentional food made with care.
A community favorite, reimagined.
When Krysta and Gary moved to the Lake Chelan Valley, they opened The Meat Shop. Jerky wasn’t part of the plan, but customers kept asking for it. With every new batch, the demand grew and it became clear that this wasn’t just a side product. It was the beginning of something bigger.
They eventually shifted their focus exclusively to jerky, pouring their time and energy into creating a small-batch snack made with integrity, flavor, and heart.
